When you are a teenager, you can often feel invincible.

Your whole life is still ahead of you and the world is opening up new adventures everyday.

With that in mind, perhaps the fact that there are 13 teenagers on the Team England swimming squad for Glasgow 2026 is no surprise. 

Succeeding in sport at a young age, meet the 'invincible' youngsters that are ready to make a splash for their country this summer.

Amalie Smith

Age: 16

Hometown: Tonbridge

Amalie Smith stormed to world and European level junior medals in a breakthrough 2025 season. 

The breaststroke specialist won two golds at the 2025 European Junior Swimming Championships in the 200m and 400m individual medleys in Slovakia at her first Europeans. 

The teenager followed European crowns with two silver medals at the World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships in Romania in the same races at 15-years-old.

Amelie Blocksidge

Age: 17

Hometown: Salford

Despite only turning 17 in April, Amelie Blocksidge already has piles of medals hanging in her trophy cabinet.

As the British 800m freestyle champion for three years running, and 1500m champion for four years, Blocksidge will be a strong medal hope across the freestyle disciplines at the Commonwealth Games in the summer.

Five medals at the European Junior Championships underline her pedigree at international level too, but she has had to battle against exams and school pressure to maintain her performances.

Brooklyn Hale

Age: 15

Hometown: Cockermouth

A teenage swimmer from Cockermouth swimming club, Brooklyn Hale is a talented freestyle swimmer who claimed mixed classification 400m bronze at the Aquatics GB Championships in London behind Paralympic and world champions Alice Tai and Faye Rogers.

It was her second bronze medal in the event, and the British junior record holder is now set for her senior international debut this summer.

Bruce Dee

Age: 19

Hometown: Kettering

Bruce Dee made his international debut in 2024 before earning selection for his maiden Paralympic Games later that year.

He earned silver in the S6 200m individual medley medal at his maiden European Championships before earning another silver at the World Championships a year later in the mixed 4x100m medley relay.

His inexorable rise continued when he clocked a new S6 100m breaststroke world record of 1:19.80 in December, a month after being named Para Swimming Emerging Athlete of the Year by Aquatics GB.

Eva Okaro

Age: 19

Hometown: Sevenoaks

Swimming starlet Eva Okaro is ready to represent Team England for the first time at Glasgow 2026 having made her Olympic debut at Paris 2024 aged just 17. 

The teenager became the first black woman to represent Team GB in the pool after Alice Dearing blazed an open water trail at Tokyo 2020.

The sprint star joined forces with fellow Team England athletes Anna Hopkin and Freya Anderson to finish seventh in the women's 4x100m freestyle relay at Paris 2024 before continuing her year of firsts with a silver medal in the 4x100m relay at the Short-Course World Championships in Budapest.

Having signed for the University of Texas this season, the Longhorn has gone on to break multiple University records in the NCAA system on American soil.

Evie Lambert

Age: 18

Town: Huddersfield

Evie Lambert impressed at the 2025 Aquatics GB Swimming Championships, achieving four personal bests while still studying for her A-Levels. 

The Kirklees starlet was named in the 2025/26 Swim England Senior Performance squad and she has said that making the Paralympics is her dream. 

Gabriel Shepherd

Age: 18

Hometown: Harrogate

Gabriel Shepherd will relish the chance to enhance his burgeoning reputation in Glasgow.

The youngster from Harrogate, who trains at City of Leeds Swim Club, announced himself as one to watch in 2023 when, aged 15, he won four golds and two silvers at the ISF Swimming Championships in Rio.

At this year’s Aquatics GB Swimming Championships, Shepherd earned 50m freestyle bronze and became the seventh fastest 200m freestyler in British history on his way to fifth place in a stacked final, finishing in 1:46.39.

Gabrielle Idle-Beavers

Age: 18

Hometown: Barnsley

Gabrielle Idle-Beavers is something of an unknown quantity heading into these Commonwealth Games, as the youngster has spent much of the last few years in junior age categories.

However, April’s GB Championships brought an opportunity to impress, and Idle-Beavers grabbed it with both hands as she took second in the women’s 100m breaststroke behind Scotland's Angharad Evans.

Her status as a national age group champion has recently earned her a spot at the University of Kentucky, heading Stateside from Tavistock Swimming Club in Devon.

Ionna Winnifrith

Age: 15

Hometown: Tonbridge

Aged just 13 years and 148 days, Iona Winnifrith battled to claim a silver medal in the 100m breaststroke SB7 at the Paris Paralympics in 2024.

Now a comparatively stately 15 years old, she has Commonwealth glory in her sights, especially after claiming two medals at the 2025 World Championships.

Winnifrith is a special young talent who can compete across a range of disciplines.

Isabella Haynes

Age: 17

Hometown: Bournemouth

Spotted as a potential elite athlete just three years ago, Isabella Haynes has surged into the limelight as one of England’s leading para swimmers.

Born without the lower half of her right leg, Haynes felt she wasn’t held back in the water, and soon won the World School Games title in Brazil.

In Glasgow, she will be setting her sights as high as possible, especially as she dreams of winning Paralympic gold one day.

Jacob Mills

Age: 18

Hometown: Leicester

A meteoric rise saw Jacob Mills crowned the fastest Brit in water this April.

In just 12 months, Mills has cemented his spot as one-to-watch in the pool, including crowning himself 2026 British champion over 50m freestyle in a new personal best of 21.91.

At the World Junior Champions in 2025, the teenager stormed to an incredible four silver and one bronze medals, including vice champ in both the 50m and 100m freestyle.

The Repton swimmer has committed to the Manchester Performance Centre for the upcoming season and will be making his Commonwealth Games debut in Glasgow looking to clinch a maiden senior international medal.

Max Morgan

Age: 18

Hometown: London

Max Morgan first announced himself on the world stage with two medals at the 2024 European Junior Championship - a gold in the 4x100 mixed medley and bronze in the 4x100 m medley relay.

He followed that up last year with two bronze medals at the World Junior Championships in Romania, this time in the 100m breaststroke alongside the mixed medley relay.

In 2025, Morgan scooped his first senior title when he was crowned the British champion in 50m breaststroke, as he also finished second in the 100m breaststroke event.

Ursula Carroll

Age: 14

Hometown: Stockport

The youngest member of the Team England swimming squad, Ursula Carroll is ready to stamp her name on Glasgow this summer.

Just 14-years-old, the Stockport swimmer broke the women's 200m individual medley S13 European record in December 2025.

Glasgow 2026 will be a family affair for Carroll, who's sister Astrid will also be diving off the blocks for Team Scotland.
