Amelie Blocksidge will make her Commonwealth Games debut aged 17 in Glasgow looking to add to an already bulging medal cabinet.

As the British 800m freestyle champion for three years running, and 1500m champion for four years, Blocksidge will be a strong medal hope across the freestyle disciplines at the Commonwealth Games in the summer.

Five medals at the European Junior Championships underline her pedigree at international level to and she has had to juggle exams and school pressure to maintain her performances.

Tom Dean aka “The SubmaDean” followed up his double Olympic triumph at Tokyo 2020 by making history in Birmingham, becoming the first Home Nations athlete to win seven medals at a single Commonwealth Games.
