Commonwealth Appearances

Teenage swimming sensation Gabriel Shepherd will relish the chance to enhance his burgeoning reputation in Glasgow.

The youngster from Harrogate, who trains at City of Leeds Swim Club, announced himself as one to watch in 2023 when, aged 15, he won four golds and two silvers at the ISF Swimming Championships in Rio.

In 2025, he broke the British age group record on his way to winning the 50m freestyle at the Swim England National Winter Championships, clocking 21.24.

And at this year’s Aquatics GB Swimming Championships, Shepherd earned 50m freestyle bronze and became the seventh fastest 200m freestyler in British history on his way to fifth place in a stacked final, finishing in 1:46.39.

Swimming and Para-Swimming
Tom Dean aka “The SubmaDean” followed up his double Olympic triumph at Tokyo 2020 by making history in Birmingham, becoming the first Home Nations athlete to win seven medals at a single Commonwealth Games.
