Jamie Chestney made it third time lucky with a first Commonwealth Games gold in Birmingham.

Chestney had previously competed at Glasgow 2014 and Gold Coast 2018 where he picked up two bronze medals and a silver before topping the rostrum on home soil.

The Devonian also picked up a bronze in the fours event last year, with Sam Tolchard joining the golden triumvirate of Chestney, Nick Brett and Louis Ridout as Northern Ireland took gold.

Away from sport, Chestney loves to tuck into a curry, his favourite food, and will certainly had something memorable to takeaway from the Games.

In his spare time he enjoys heading to Sandy Park to watch rugby union’s Exeter Chiefs and he flew the flag for the West Country with pride when he took to the lawn in the Midlands last year.

Bowls and Para Bowls
It was a hugely successful campaign at Leamington Spa’s Victoria Park and some thrilling games saw Team England leave the plush lawn with six medals including two gold, two silver and two bronze.
