Daley delivers double gold at in London

Commonwealth diving champion Tom Daley had a weekend to remember winning two gold medals and a bronze in front of a home crowd at the Diving World Series in London.

Diving at his home pool at the London Aquatic Centre, Daley set the series alight with an opening night victory in the 10m syncro event alongside partner Matty Lee to achieve their first gold medal as a pairing.

Then Daley brought the show to a triumphant close on the final day of competition with an individual bronze medal in the 10m platform event before combining with training partner Grace Reid to take the 3m mixed syncro title.

Elsewhere there was a Team England one-two in the men’s 3m springboard final with Jack Laugher and Dan Goodfellow finishing up on the top two steps of the podium respectively.

 

Triumphant trio Brownlee, Coldwell & Jones-Hall all win gold

Triathletes Alistair Brownlee and Sophie Coldwell and Commonwealth para-triathlon champion Jade Jones-Hall all won gold in their respective races in Calgari and Yokohoma.

In a rare appearance over the sprint distance , Brownlee sealed the 36th World Cup win of his career with victory in Calgari, while Coldwell followed suit in the women’s race.

Meanwhile in Japan, Jones-Hall showed once again why she’s such a force in women’s para-triathlon, finishing 30 seconds clear of the field.


Mixed fortunes for GB teams in FIH Pro League

Great Britain’s men’s and women’s hockey teams had a rollercoaster weekend ion a double header of matches against Argentina and Belgium in the FIH Pro League.

GB’s women secured  a point in a 1-1 draw against Argentina while in the men’s fixture, GB fell just short against the Olympic champions to lose 3-2, having trailed 3-0 earlier in the match.

Then versus Belgium, goals from Grace Balsdon and Lily Owsley earned GB a 2-0 victory over Belgium, while the men lost 4-0 to the world champions in their clash.
