Super Saturday for Team England continues in stunning fashion, as Liam Pitchford and Paul Drinkhall claim the gold medal in the men’s table tennis doubles.

The pair overcame their Indian opponents 3-2, with Sharath Achanta and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran settling for the silver.

The duo came back from the brink of defeat after the three sets, however ended up making a comeback in games three, four and five.

The pair fought bravely across the heats and progressed to the final after defeating India’s Desai/Shetty pair in yesterday’s semi-final match.

Pitchford is set to continue his success in tomorrow’s mixed doubles game against Singapore with partner Tin-Tin Ho.
