Jamie Walker bagged silver in the men's pairs alongside teammate Sam Tolchard at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Walker started playing bowls aged 12, and since then has picked up a wide range of national and world titles across various age levels.

And having missed out on competing in the Gold Coast four years ago, he will be embracing competing at a home Commonwealth Games in what he thinks is the pinnacle of the sport.

Bowls is not the only sport Walker is passionate about, being an avid Manchester United fan and also supporting local rugby side Northampton Saints.

It is fair to say he lives and breathes sport, regularly hitting the golf course and watching the sport on TV as well as being a passionate cricket fan.

However bowls is certainly the self-employed builder’s main passion, as he still regularly attends his local club and running sessions alongside his brothers in his spare time.

Bowls and Para Bowls
It was a hugely successful campaign at Leamington Spa’s Victoria Park and some thrilling games saw Team England leave the plush lawn with six medals including two gold, two silver and two bronze.
