A Midlands native, Amy Jones was well and truly at home at Birmingham 2022 with the women's cricket matches played at Edgbaston.
Jones donned the gloves for Team England, taking three catches, also making her mark with the bat ending not out two times en route to the bronze medal match where the hosts lost to New Zealand.
It was a local boys’ football team that gave Jones her first taste of sport, but she quickly made the decision to switch to cricket and has become one of the best wicket-keepers in the world.
She joined the girls club that her friends played for and made rapid progress, taking advantage of a link with Warwickshire and was on-trial at Edgbaston at the age of 13.
Within five years she was training full-time at the England Academy in Loughborough and was one of the first group to be granted an ECB central contract in 2014.
