After finishing his studies in Chemistry at Loughborough University, Jamie Webb, a 28-year-old former Chemistry teacher decided to make the jump from academia to full-time athlete.
His first taste of success came from a silver medal at the 2019 European Athletics Indoor Championships in the 800 metres. He then went on to win a bronze medal at the same Championships in 2020.
Webb represented Team England in his first Commonwealth Games in Birmingham 2022 after an injury to Max Burgin and after an attention-grabbing heats win he narrowly missed out on a podium place to teammate Ben Pattison.
