Injury deprived Tom Bowen a chance to represent Team England at the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast but he will finally make his debut at Birmingham 2022.

Bowen has been a regular in the England Sevens set-up since 2014 but after recovering from his injury for the 2018-19 season, he was selected for Team GB’s squad for Tokyo 2020.

He first picked up a rugby at Lewes Rugby Club aged just six and after catching the eye with his impressive skillset, Leicester Tigers took him on in their academy.

Originally a centre, his switch to the wing proved fruitful after joining Plymouth Albion in 2012, becoming the cub’s Young Player of the Season for back-to-back campaigns.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Bowen also utilised his sevens pedigree by teaching rugby and fitness both online and in schools with England teammate Megan Jones.
