Stacie Gaston-Monerville’s Commonwealth concluded with a sixth-place finish and new personal record in the women's F44 discus.

The thrower posted a distance of 27.37m in Birmingham to soar into sixth place and cement herself on the international stage.

Gaston-Monerville's life changed drastically one morning when she woke up without the ability to walk.

While in the USA on a football scholarship, it turned out that she had a condition affecting her back and playing sport exacerbated it.

A few years later Gaston-Monervile enrolled at the University of Middlesex, where she picked up discus and shot put, breaking records in both after only two months of throwing, while also coaching the women’s football team.

Athletics and Para-Athletics
