Sophie Hitchon appeared at her second Commonwealth Games, following a bronze medal at Glasgow in 2014.

She also competed at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune in 2008.

Sophie, from Burnley, joined the other athletes in Team England’s athletics squad to compete at the Carrara Stadium in the hammer throw.

In front of a 30,000 strong crowd at the newly refurbished Alexander Stadium, Team England picked up a host of medals at Birmingham 2022.
