Gold Coast 2018 was a Commonwealth Games debut for 26-year-old Ruaridh. He won a bronze medal as part of Team England's men's rugby sevens team. 

He made an instant impact to the squad on his debut in 2015, scoring a remarkable try against Kenya in his first tournament, in Dubai that December.
