Sevens star Merryn Doidge honed her craft in the rugby hotbed of the West Country.

The Cornish full-back first picked up a ball when playing alongside her brother, later playing competitively for an under-15 side at the age of just 12.

Originally she made her senior bow domestic bow for Bristol Bears, before joining Exeter Chiefs in 2020. An England Six Nations call-up came just a year later, with Doidge tipped as a future star at international level.
