Lauren Smith

Badminton

With five Commonwealth Games medals to her name, Lauren Smith has been a fundamental part of Team England’s badminton success in recent years.

The Cumbria shuttler won silver in the mixed team event at Glasgow 2014 as well as women’s doubles bronze alongside Gabby Adcock.

Smith brought three medals back from the Gold Coast in 2018, including silver in the women’s doubles with Sarah Walker and mixed team bronze.

In Birmingham she will hope to upgrade the mixed doubles silver medal she won with Marcus Smith four years ago. The pair have been consistently ranked in the world top ten in recent seasons, won gold at the European Games in 2019 and reached the quarter-finals at the Tokyo Olympics.
