Jamell Anderson made a name for himself at the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast for something he did on-court, but it was not a dunk, a block and did not even involve a basketball.

The 6ft7 power forward hit the headlines after proposing to partner and England Women’s basketball player Georgia Jones on the court.

Now 32, Anderson is a BBL Trophy and two-time BBL Cup winner as well as a BBL league champion with the Leicester Riders.

His two stints with the East Midlands side were separated by a spell with the Cheshire Phoenix before his most recent stay with the Manchester Giants. 

He has been a regular fixture since breaking into the GB set-up and also has experience in 3x3 having turned out for England in 3x3 FIBA World Championships in 2012.
