Desharne Bent-Ashmeil will hope to use the Commonwealth Games to mark a transition from prodigious junior talent to an established star.

Crowned England’s Diving Talent of the Year in 2019, the South Londoner was named European junior champion on 1m springboard that year and helped the British team win a silver medal.

A former gymnast, Bent Ashmeil was born not far from the famous Crystal Palace sporting complex and will bid for her own slice of history in Birmingham.

Diving
Team England made a splash in diving with their most successful ever Commonwealth Games in the sport seeing them win six golds and 16 medals in total.
