Rugby is a family affair for Charlton Kerr, who was hooked by the sport after first being introduced to it at the Towcestrians club in Northamptonshire when he was aged just four.
His father, David, played for Only RFC and brother Brandon represented East Midlands at U20 level but Charlton will now make his Commonwealth Games debut at Birmingham 2022.
The Milton Keynes-born prop and centre at sevens has enjoyed a fast rise through the ranks since those early days, including spells with the academies at Northampton Saints and Wasps.
He started his World Series career in sensational fashion with a stoppage-time try that secured fifth for England in the Las Vegas tournament in 2017 and hasn’t looked back since.
A place in the England Sevens Academy followed in 2018-19 before his breakdown mastery and brute power made him a mainstay in the squad, signing full-time in 2019-20.
