After a hugely successful day for Team England, tomorrow will be hard to match, however Max Whitlock will lead the charge on what promises to be another thrilling at day at the Commonwealth Games.

Having already secured a first gold medal of the games in the artistic gymnastics men’s team event, Whitlock returns to competition looking for further gold in the pommel horse and floor finals – the same events he captured gold in during the Rio 2016 Olympics.

Elsewhere, individual all-around champion Nile Wilson returns with team mate Courtney Tulloch in the men’s rings final.

Tomorrow also marks the start of the athletics programme with Team England’s joint athletics captain Tom Bosworth hoping to lead by example and secure gold in the men’s 20km race walk final.

Arguably the blue ribbon event of any Commonwealth Games, the men’s 100m sprint, also gets off to a start tomorrow. England’s Adam Gemili and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey will both line-up in the heats, with hopes of progressing through to Monday’s final.

Meanwhile in the field, Nick Miller and Taylor Campbell are both among the medal contenders in the Men’s Hammer Throw final.

Elsewhere, 20-year-old Amber Hill is aiming to follow up a hugely successful 2017 where she captured gold in the Commonwealth Shooting Championships – a test event for these games.

Hill features in the Women’s Skeet qualification, but her sights will surely be on the final, also happening tomorrow.

In table tennis England’s quartet of Tin-Tin Ho, Denise Payet, Kelly Sibley and Maria Tsaptsinos are up against India in the Women’s Team semifinal, with a potential gold medal match to follow later in the day.

Team England are also in the semi-final of the mixed team badminton event, where only Malaysia stand in their way of a place in Monday’s gold medal final.

Meanwhile it’s a busy day for England’s team sports with our netball, hockey and basketball squads all in action.
