In an end to end encounter from start to finish, the Roses showed sheer determination and self-belief to overcome the talented Australian team, largely considered the best in world netball.
It was a truly remarkable finish to the Games and heading in to the last few minutes of the final quarter against the Aussies, they needed to overcome a four goal deficit and they did just that, clawing themselves back.
Head coach Tracey Neville told the BBC after the match: "It's a dream come true. The girls have worked so hard over this international phase.
