Louise Martin, President of the Commonwealth Games Federation, is to receive a Damehood for services to sport in the Queen’s New Year Honours list.

Also included in the New Year Honours list is Bill Beaumont, the former Chairman of the Rugby Football Union, who has been awarded a knighthood for services to rugby.

Geva Mentor, who competed in her fifth Commonwealth Games as part of Team England’s gold medal winning netball squad receives a CBE.

Commonwealth Games England Chairman Ian Metcalfe said: “I am delighted to see such worthy recipients recognised for their valuable contributions to Commonwealth sport in the latest New Year Honours list."
