A specialist in the 3000m steeplechase, Zak Seddon saw success early on in his career, winning gold at the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2011 and at the European Junior Championships in Rieti two years on.  

The West Ham fan moved to the United States for further education, competing for the Florida State Seminoles.  

He became an Olympian in Tokyo but having to isolate after close contact with a positive Covid case affected his preparation, finishing 14^th in his heat.

Seddon finished eighth at Birmingham 2022, with a time of 8:46.11. 

He caught the eye in the 2023 European Team Championships in 2023, as his third-place finish in the steeplechase helped Great Britain and Northern Ireland to fifth overall in Silesia.
