Once a successful semi-professional football player, a bad tackle broke Michael ‘Taz’ Nicholls’ tibia and fibula, ending his footballing prospects.
Nicholls moved into para-sport and found great success in the discus, but his recent performances in the seated shot have propelled him into the spotlight ahead of the Commonwealth Games.
At the Winter Long Throws Championships in Loughborough, he delivered a second season’s best to solidify his top four Commonwealth ranking.
