Sylvia Misztal will join Sophie Unwin as a pilot at Glasgow 2026 as she makes her Commonwealth Games bow.
Misztal juggled cycling with her studies, completing the six years required to qualify as a doctor at the University of Exeter while also competing in BUCS.
In fact, despite the intense degree and demands of elite sport, Misztal also found time to play netball, having also previously competed in athletics.
She finished fourth at the British National Championships in 2026 but won bronze in the Women’s Team Sprint finals alongside Madeline Silcock and Ellie Stone.
Track Cycling and Para Track Cycling
Cycling at the Commonwealth Games in the past has taken place across three different disciplines; Track Cycling, Road Cycling and Mountain Bike.
