Steve Simmons partnered Alison Yearling in the visually impaired mixed pairs with Mark and Sue Wherry as their directors. 

Steve made his Commonwealth Games debut at Glasgow in 2014 and competed in his second Games on the Gold Coast.

He has won two Bronze medals at the World Championships in 2009 and 2013.
