Sophie Unwin brings substantial medal-winning experience to Team England as a double Paralympic gold medallist and seven-time world champion.
Despite coming to cycling late through a talent ID session, the visually impaired cyclist wasted no time in getting amongst the medals after being paired with usual pilot and Scot Jenny Holl in March 2021.
She took her first Road World Championships title that year as well as two Paralympic medals at her debut Games in Tokyo, before adding her first World Championship gold on the track in 2022, as well as another on road.
In the same year, Unwin made her Commonwealth Games debut alongside pilot Georgia Holt. She finished third but was not awarded a bronze medal as the minimum five entries did not compete.
It was a disappointment Unwin bounced back from in fine fashion with three World Championship golds in 2023 before hitting even bigger heights in 2024.
The Paris 2024 Paralympics brought two gold medals in the individual pursuit and road race as well as two further podium finishes, silver in the road race time trial and bronze in the time trial.
Unwin will hope to channel that same resolve to finish Glasgow 2026 with a medal round her neck alongside pilot Sylvia Mizstal.
