Commonwealth Appearances

Sophie Lewis is relishing competing in a Commonwealth Games on the track she learned her trade on.

The Hertfordshire youngster began her cycling journey at the age of nine and before long she was racing around the Lee Valley VeloPark, home of the London 2012 gold rush.

Ten years on, Lewis will be among those looking to help the home nation to a similarly medal-laden summer and she arrives in good form, becoming a British champion in the omnium earlier this year at a National Championships which also brought madison silver.

Madison is Lewis’ favoured event and she won European Junior gold in 2019.

Cycling
Cycling at the Commonwealth Games in the past has taken place across three different disciplines; Track Cycling, Road Cycling and Mountain Bike.
