Sophie Cook was told she would never pole vault again after a car accident in 2017.

But in 2019 she secured British Championship silver and National Indoor Championship gold in 2020 with a jump of 4.50m.

And after being selected to represent Team England at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, Cook finished eight with a height of 4.25m.

At the 2022 Müller Diamond League in Birmingham, Cook claimed fourth and raised her outdoor personal best to 4.45m at the Alexander Stadium.
