Samantha Harrison finished sixth in the women's 10000m at Birmingham 2022, just four years after taking up running i in late 2018 to help counter stress in her personal life.
It proved to be love at first sight and her natural gift for long distance was uncovered, with Harrison finishing in 31:21.53 at the Alexander Stadium.
Harrison credits her meteoric rise - just two years after her first ever half marathon she ran for GB at the 2020 World Athletics Half Marathon Championships - on putting in blood, sweat and tears while staying consistent and driven in training.
Harrison now works part-time as a dental nurse after scaling back her hectic schedule which once led to her doing a podcast interview in the bath.
