Harvard University, Howard University and Essex all have one thing in common: Sam Bennett.
The 110m Hurdler hails from Basildon but moved across the pond to study Economics with a secondary in Psychology. After four years in Massachusetts, Bennett moved his trade to Howard and Texas Tech but it is on the athletics track where he shines strongest.
A former junior standout, Bennett won gold at the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games and the 2018 European Under-18 Championships before moving to the US.
And with a return to home soil, Bennett overcame a PCL injury to win his maiden British outdoors title in the men's 110m hurdles in 2026 and secure his Commonwealth Games debut for Team England.
