Teenager Ruby White goes into her first Commonwealth Games as one of the most exciting young talents in British boxing.
‘Losing’ may as well not be in her vocabulary as she has won seven national championships during her developmental years, her most recent success coming in May this year.
That success has translated to continental and global level, with White winning four European titles as well as winning gold in the 2024 World Under-19 Championships in the -48kg by defeating India’s Chanchal Chaudhary in the final.
After stepping up to 51kg, she saw off competition from over 500 other female boxers in winning the Golden Girl Championship in Sweden in January.
Her exceptional talent was recognised when she won the presitigous SportsAid One-to-Watch award in 2024.
