Romell Glave has been leaving world and Olympic medallists in his wake en route to a first Commonwealth Games.
Born in Manchester, Jamaica before moving to London, Glave earned the tag of the world fastest 17-year-old as he ran the 100m in 10.21 seconds.
On the senior stage, his first medal came at the 2024 European Championships, winning bronze in the 100m, he was beaten by home hope and Olympic champion Marcell Jacobs but Glave would get revenge.
He first triumphed over the Italian in the final of the Paavo Nurmi Games in 2025, before beating him in the Savona International Meeting with a new meeting record.
In between these victories, Glave reached the 100m semi-finals of the World Championships in Tokyo, setting a new personal best of 10.00s.
The hallowed sub-10 seconds finally came at the 2026 British Athletics Championships, where he beat Team England teammate Zharnel Hughes for his debut title.
