Competing in the 100kg weight class, Rhys Thompson became British champion for the second time in December 2021 before adding a Commonwealth medal to his collection.

The Londoner shared bronze with Team England teammate Harry Lovell-Hewitt in Birmingham.

Thompson has also medalled twice at European Opens, the first in Glasgow in 2018 and the second in Sarajevo in February. 

He made a strong impression on his European Championships debut in Sofia in April 2022 too show he is a star for the future.
