One of the emerging talents in British athletics, Poppy Malik first broke onto the scene at 18 when she was part of the women’s 4x400m relay team that won bronze at the World U20s in Colombia.
The former South Nottinghamshire Academy pupil enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2025, winning relay gold at the European U23 Champs alongside fellow Team England stars Yemi Mary John and Emily Newnham.
More impressive performances were enough to earn Malik a spot on the team for the World Championships in Tokyo, where she competed in the women’s 4x400m relay and she followed that up with selection for the World Relays in Botswana in 2026.
She will make her Commonwealth Games debut for Team England in Glasgow.
