In March 2022, Patrick Dever set a personal best time of 27:23.88 in the 10,000m moving him to fifth all-time in the UK.

The sixth-place finish in California saw him just behind Mo Farah, Marc Scott, Jon Brown and Eamonn Martin. 

Competing for the University of Tulsa, he won the 10,000m at the 2021 NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Track and Field Championships in a championship record.

At Birmingham 2022, he finished seventh in the men's 5000m with a time of 13:22.10.
