It could have been very different for Olivia Broome, until a talent ID scheme led her to powerlifting aged 15 and from there followed success on the world stage.

Away from the weights, Broome enjoys art alongside her training and studies at Loughborough University and drew on plenty of strength from her creative side ahead of the Commonwealth Games in 2022. 

The 19-year-old has already won a Paralympic bronze medal from Tokyo last year and a silver at the World Championships. 

Broome, who also holds the junior world record for the under-50kg category, ultimately claimed Commonwealth silver in Birmingham.
