Ojie grew up in North London and from a young age was full of energy – putting him in good stead for his future career. Initially running for fun, he realised the love for the sport and begun taking training more seriously.
Clearly this paid off, as he won his first medal in the 100m at the 2013 IAAF World Youth Championships and eventually was selected to represent team GB at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
Despite his rapid success, it hasn’t always been plain sailing for the track and field athlete with Ojie confessing that achieving success at such a young age brought him to breaking point when he was not selected for the 2017 World Championships.
Ojie will represent Team England for his first Commonwealth Games in Birmingham 2022.
