Few athletes get the opportunity to compete at a major Games in their hometown, but that is what happened to Niall Farrell.

The Birmingham-born boxer travelled to Tokyo as a sparring partner last year, but took centre stage himself in England's Second City.

Farrell tasted defeat in the round of 16, losing to eventual champion Jude Gallagher.

He had previously tasted success on the continental stage, claiming a European silver medal in 2017 before a tendon injury put his career on hold for three years.
