As the only British woman ever to jump 2m, Morgan Lake can count herself among athletics royalty.
The high jumper finally broke that milestone at the Zurich Diamond League event in 2025 after years of progression throughout the event.
She earned a Commonwealth silver medal in 2018 and became the first British woman to reach an Olympic high jump final in 24 years at the Rio Olympics in 2016.
2025 marked her tenth consecutive national title, a truly astonishing demonstration of her consistency and ability at the very top of the sport.
At the last Commonwealth Games, she finished in an agonising fourth place and will be keen to right that wrong this summer.
Her national dominance ended in 2026 as she decided to prioritise injury recovery over the national championships, but don’t be fooled, Lake is still at the top of her game ahead of Glasgow.
