Maria Tsaptsinos will hope to be making headlines rather than write them this summer.

The former journalism student combines her time at the table with her work as a video producer and will want to bring back a medal to show to the cameras in Birmingham.

Tsaptsinos has consistently balanced her table tennis with her studies having won her first under 21 national title aged 17 before clinching bronze in the Gold Coast just weeks after a first class degree from the University of Nottingham.

And now the six-time national women's doubles champions has the chance to claim the biggest victory of her career to date in Birmingham.
