In 2026, long jumper Lucy Hadaway announced herself at the top of the sport with a hugely impressive 6.67m winning jump at the UK Athletics Championships, just six centimetres short of her lifetime best.
That jump came back in 2023 at the Cyprus International Athletics Meeting, leading to her selection for the European Athletics Team Championships in Poland.
Hadaway was born in York and still represents the City of York AC, where she honed her talents as an athlete.
She appeared at the Commonwealth Youth Games for Team England in Nassau in 2017, winning a bronze medal but will make her senior debut for the nation this summer.

In front of a 30,000 strong crowd at the newly refurbished Alexander Stadium, Team England picked up a host of medals at Birmingham 2022.
