Lauren Cox will return to the Commonwealth Games after a successful debut four years ago, where she won two bronze medals in the 4x100m medley and 4x100m mixed medley.
The 24-year-old is a backstroke specialist and has plenty of individual medals to add to her relay successes.
A bronze medal in the 50m backstroke at the 2023 World Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, was followed two years later by a 100m gold in Lublin, Poland, at the European Championships.
She may have missed out on an Olympic debut in 2024, but with the 50m backstroke announced as a new event at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, Cox has picked herself off the canvas to fight for medals again.

Tom Dean aka “The SubmaDean” followed up his double Olympic triumph at Tokyo 2020 by making history in Birmingham, becoming the first Home Nations athlete to win seven medals at a single Commonwealth Games.
