Kiaran Macdonald came into the Birmingham Games as one to watch and left with a silver medal.

Fresh off his silver at the European Championships in May, Macdonald added another piece of silverware to his CV in the 51kg flyweight category.

The Wearsider fell to India's Amit Panghal in the final but still picked up a glittering silver for Team England.

Macdonald had already picked up two national titles in 2016 and 2017, and now has his eyes firmly fixed on adding a Commonwealth medal to his collection.

He describes his style as "flashy, fancy, and explosive" and he'll hope to put on a show for the crowds in Birmingham this summer.

Boxing
Team England brought 14 boxers to Birmingham, with the group consisting of 8 men and 6 women.
