Kerry Davis grew up playing football but the round-ball game ‘went out the window’ when she discovered boxing as a teenager.
She has not looked back since, becoming a national champion in 2018 and earning a place on GB Boxing’s podium potential squad with a view to Paris 2024.
There she will attempt to fill the middleweight void left by Lauren Price, who also swapped football for boxing, and the 2022 Commonwealth Games was a key marker for the Cheltenham ace.
On her Games debut, Davis reached the quarterfinals, defeating Ornella Sathoud of Ghana to progress to the last eight.
Davis made her IBA World Championship bow earlier in 2022, also reaching the quarter-finals.
