Glasgow 2026 will mark Katy Marchant’s first major event since the birth of her second child.
The Leeds cyclist missed Birmingham 2022 due to having her first child, and now returns to the Commonwealth Games scene for the first time since 2018, when she won a team sprint bronze on the Gold Coast.
It was in that event that she became a world and Olympic champion in 2024, joining Emma Finucane and her Team England teammate Sophie Capewell in making history as the first women’s squad to win both titles in the same year. She narrowly missed out on an individual Olympic medal in the keirin, finishing fourth.
Away from the track, keen baker Marchant has her own bespoke cake business.
She was appointed an MBE in 2025.
