After a breakout 2021, Josie Nelson is ready to represent her country on home soil at Birmingham 2022.

She finished off her road season with an astounding second-place finish in the road race at the National Road Championships in Lincoln.

And she went from strength to strength during the cyclocross season, winning the third round of the HSBC UK Cyclo-Cross National Trophy in Falkirk.

She followed that up with a great run of performances in Belgium and the Netherlands, securing some strong results, including 10th place at the Under-23 European Championships in Col du Vam and seventh place in Leuven.

Nelson is the sister of UCI Track Cycling World Championship gold medal winner Emily Nelson and will be hoping to follow in her footsteps in years to come. But first, she'll look to help Team England to success in Birmingham.

Cycling
Cycling at the Commonwealth Games in the past has taken place across three different disciplines; Track Cycling, Road Cycling and Mountain Bike.
