Joseph Ellis finished just shy of the podium on Commonwealth Games debut with a fourth-place finish at Birmingham 2022.

Ellis broke his hammer throw personal best in May 2022 with a throw of 74.52m and posted 73.09m at his first major championships at the Alexander Stadium.

The 26-year-old went to the University of Michigan where he was named 2017 Big Ten Champion in the event and 2019 for indoor weight throw.

Ellis competed at the 2016 British Championships in hammer throw where he came 9th.
