Dr Jonathan Chin will swap the hospital for the platform at Glasgow 2026.
The weightlifter works as a fully qualified doctor for the NHS alongside his weightlifting career, taking a first major medal at the 2023 Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships in India.
Chin first got involved in weightlifting in 2016 after he started attending a gym to rehab a hamstring injury he sustained while doing athletics and in his second-ever competition, the 2018 British Championships, he won his first podium spot.
A three-time British champion and seven-time British record holder, Chin documents his life as a doctor and elite athlete on his social media.
Having reached his maiden Commonwealth Games whilst also working, Chin will now look to add another impressive accolade to his CV in Glasgow.
