Joe Litchfield swam to two stunning silvers at Birmingham 2022.

The all-rounder was part of a jam-packed freestyle outing that won silver in the men's 4x100m and 4x200m freestyle at a home Commonwealth Games.

Son of professional goalkeeper Peter Litchfield, football was Joe’s first passion before eventually settling on swimming.

Litchfield made history at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games alongside brother Max, as they became just the third brothers to represent Great Britain in swimming at the same Olympics.

Four years earlier, Litchfield became a junior European champion in the 200m individual medley, before winning European Championship golds in 4x100m mixed relay and 4x200m mixed relay in Budapest in 2020.

Litchfield finished sixth in the 400m individual medley event at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

Swimming and Para-Swimming
Tom Dean aka “The SubmaDean” followed up his double Olympic triumph at Tokyo 2020 by making history in Birmingham, becoming the first Home Nations athlete to win seven medals at a single Commonwealth Games.
