After making his international debut just a few months before Birmingham 2022, James Mazarelo became a Commonwealth bronze medallist aged just 21.

Mazarelo has steadily been making his way through the England Hockey age groups but has now accelerated to the big stage.

The 21-year-old goalkeeper began playing the sport at Bowdon Hockey Club in his native Manchester, progressing all the way from England U16s to Great Britain U21s.
